Doesn’t quite meet specs
This fan comes in a rather neat enclosure that has spacings both below and above the fan. So, you can either place it down on the device you want to cool, or put the device you want to cool on top of the fan itself. It has rubber grommets on both sides meant to prevent it from sliding around as well as for spacing and noise isolation. There’s also a plastic grille on both sides to prevent things from getting caught in the fan blades.It is however fairly audible in a quiet room, even from some feet away. You won’t hear it over a typical computer running with multiple fans, but if this fan is the only thing that is spinning in your room, you’ll definitely hear it. The sound signature is also not smooth but rather rattly. Measured CFM with a tachometer was right at 800 rather than 1100, and I tried on multiple USB ports of multiple devices and power bricks to make sure that it’s not an isolated issue. One would think that if it spins at lower speeds it would be quieter, but that’s not exactly the case here.Recommended for the very reasonable price of a USB connected 120mm fan and as long as you don’t mind the sound signature of it.

GSCOLER X1 USB Cooling Fan
Great compact USB cooling fan. Plastic housing raises the fan up so there is proper airflow from underneath through the fan. Top of the fan has soft rubber contact points to avoid vibration and noise. Fan itself is pretty quiet, I measured it at 45db at one foot away. Basically this is a plug and play unit that works great – heat is a killer for electronics so using a usb fan like this with every sensitive piece of gear is a no-brainer.This is being offered a low price point making it a great value – highly recommended.
