Crazy Cool
I’m genuinely impressed with this pocket-sized console. The built-in 128GB card comes loaded with a game library full of titles I hadn’t thought about in years instant nostalgia. The rechargeable battery holds up nicely too, giving you around 8 hours of gameplay, which is perfect for long trips.It’s lightweight and easy to slip into any bag, yet powerful enough to handle everything from timeless classics to more modern hits. I also love that it still includes a 3.5mm headphone jack (dig those out and use again) for immersive sound, and the built-in Wi-Fi lets you jump into multiplayer games whenever you want. It’s a compact little device that packs way more capability than you’d expect.

The mini joysticks work, but with mixed results
This is the first retro handheld I’ve played with miniature arcade-style joysticks as an option. While it’s not an optimal choice for certain games, it does play nicely on others. And, since you can swap out the thumb stick controllers, it lends some additional customizability that other handheld consoles don’t have.While there aren’t actually 20,000 preloaded games on the SD card, it isn’t too far off from that count. The main menu shows 18,561 total games. Keep in mind that some may be duplicate titles, but I was impressed with the overall selection that is available. There’s definitely no shortage of gaming classics here.The hardware is adequate for most retro emulators up through the mid-1990s consoles. I did notice a bit of lag/stutter on the more elaborate PSP titles. However, even those were playable for the most part. Performance for the DC was okay; playable but not buttery smooth either. Like many lower-end handhelds, the plastic does feel cheap on this one. That’s a minor complaint in the greater scheme of things.Between the cool (plus customizable) LED rings and the swappable joysticks, I’m happy to have the XF40V in my collection of handhelds. Anybody who loves retro gaming should be content once they get their hands on it.

Interesting new handheld with a nice case
This handheld is very interesting, to say the least. It comes with a custom Linux OS, which I don’t know of any community replacements for as of now. The preloaded games are quite nice in selection, but you’ll probably want to add your own. Most people will want to pop the SD card out, copy its content to a better SD card, and toss the given SD card- these cards are cheap, so it may die quickly. The included carry case is extremely nice: it seriously would protect the device from a fall, and I’m genuinely shocked and delighted at the quality.For handheld enthusiasts, this device has played up to DS and PS1 very well in my testing, and can be looked up with the name XF40V, although it seems very new.

Large screen open source retro gaming console
I loved these retro game consoles. I try to gauge them based on what I found is useful to know:How many emulators: over 20Does the menu display have an “Expert Mode”: No, but the menu system has a lot of simple options, including Wi-Fi or some cosmetic choices.How easy is it to add games: It only includes a 64GB card which means you don’t have much room. But you can add games if you put the game in the right folder.Now this one has a lot of extras, including a carrying case, a screen protector and actual “joystick” levers you can add to the machine. This is a bit pricy, but it really packs in the games so you can literally press “Random” game and not play same game twice. This is a great one to get.

Solid upgrade of older version!
So this is the new version of a console that I purchased earlier this year. The old console definitely had some quirks. While it had a ton of games, there were quite a few that were glitchy and laggy, or that didn’t work at all; wouldn’t even load, or would error out.With this new version, it seems like they have worked out a lot of those kinks! I noticed they got rid of the games that didn’t work on the old one, and replaced others with newer and better games. Things load more quickly on this one. The buttons are more ergonomic, and it comes with an additional set of joysticks in an old school style which is cool. I’ve noticed while playing some games that they also made the controls more user friendly and easy to figure out.It also came with a carrying case, and an extra screen protector with the wet wipe, dry wipe and dust sticker to use for the application.While the old version I would have given 3 stars, this new version you can tell they put in solid effort to improve it and fix things, and I think it deserves 5 stars now.
